Tampa — The adventures of Pookiesha & Ray Ray continue. Rotesha Silveus, 38, was thrown in the slammer after she asphyxiated her daughter, 18-year-old Natavia Sanders, during an argument. The filicide transpired on May 11, 2024 at their residence in Tampa, Florida. According to reports, Rotesha and Natavia had contretemps over something trivial. As the squabble intensified, Rotesha grabbed Natavia by the throat and choked her unconscious. Thirty minutes later, Natavia came to her senses and called 911. She told the operator she had “just woke up from being passed out” after her mom strangled her. Then the call was disconnected. Police officers were dispatched to the scene. They heard screaming but refused to force entry. After strangling Natavia, Rotesha took her sweet time coming to the door. But she refused to cooperate.

Following a brief scuffle, officers placed Rotesha in handcuffs and threw her in the squad car.

Natavia was found unresponsive on the kitchen floor.

Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived. Natavia was transported to the hospital in critical condition. She died two days later. The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the quietus a homicide by strangulation. Rotesha, who was initially charged with resisting arrest and aggravated battery, had her counts upgraded to first-degree murder.

The mother of four will spend the rest of her miserable existence behind bars.

“This is a heartbreaking case,” said Chief Lee Bercaw of the Tampa Police Department.

“Our deepest condolences go out to all those who knew and loved Natavia. Our detectives’ hard work demonstrates our commitment to ensuring justice is served in this matter.”

Natavia, a prepossessing student with a bright future, was just weeks away from graduating high school.

Scuttlebutt has it Rotesha was jealous.

  1. She was jealous of her daughter..and the potential she had..there are alot of evil jealous woman out here that has some hate for there own children ..because why ? Your mad at your own life and you didnt want her to have her own..happiness and success..

  3. A jealous mother or a jealous daughter will kill you these days. Its actually sickening to do your very own end. When jealous ppl show you who they are please belive them. I have seen a mother take a granddaughter. After her daughter has raised her. Turn that child against her own daughter. And acts as if she has replaced her very own daughter with the daughters daughter. Watch people even your own mama could want everything you have. Sad but true💯

  7. I’m going to say this, I lost my son by the hands of a monster! I could NEVER be the one to take the life of my own child….this woman is pure evil, not crazy. I don’t understand why they didn’t just kick in the door when they heard her screams…this is so infuriating!!! A beautiful soul gone and for what?   10. Why was dispatch so slow when daughter first called why police wait 14 mins to go in house after the daughter already called n said she had just woken up from being strangled by her mother 😢 poor girl everyone failed her

  31. When he opened the car door and she was sprawled out and the cop said “OH my god” 🤦🏾‍♀️ … and then she tried to play psychotic… She knew exactly what she was doing!!
