SHREVEPORT — When ‘Til Death Do Us Part’ becomes a reality. Residents of Shreveport, Louisiana are in mourning after 31-year-old Shamar Elkins Ctrl-Alt-Deleted 8 children (including 7 of his own) before committing suicide by cop. The massacre transpired on April 19, 2026 at two different residences — making it the deadliest U.S. mass shooting in more than two years. Shamar and his estranged wife, Shaneiqua Pugh, were in the process of getting a divorce and were scheduled to appear in court the next day. Amid trepidation of child support payments, Shamar implored Shaneiqua to reconsider saving the marriage. But she made it crystal clear she was done with his ass — sparking a bout of contretemps. A pissed-off Shamar yelled something to the effect of, “Bitch! If I can’t have you, no one can!” As the quarrel intensified, Shamar pulled out a gun and opened fire — striking Shaneiqua multiple times. Then he went from room to room and executed their four children.
Then, Shamar carjacked a G-ride (à la Grand Theft Auto), drove to his other baby mama’s house, and emptied the clip on her and the three kids they have together. Another child was also shot. Shamar was eventually terminated by police officers after leading ’em on a high-speed chase. “One subject was shot and has been pronounced dead,” Louisiana State Police officials said in a statement.
No officers were harmed during the incident.”
Fortunately, both baby mamas survived.
They’re hospitalized in critical condition.
But the following octet didn’t make it: Jayla Elkins, 3; Shayla Elkins, 5; Kayla Pugh, 6; Layla Pugh, 6; Markaydon Pugh, 10; Sariahh Snow, 11; Khedarrion Snow, 6; and Braylon Snow, 5.
Social media reaction was fierce.
One commenter wrote, “Ladies, ladies, ladies! Stop telling these deranged muthaf*ckas you’re leaving them. Act normal. Get ARMED FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST!!! Then LEARN HOW TO USE IT!!! Make a plan (rental trucks, police escort, etc.) and move when he’s at work or away for a long period of time. Never give away your location. If you happen to have children with him, meet at the police station for visitation.”
Another person added, “To murder one’s own children is pure evil.”
Shamar served in the Louisiana Army National Guard from 2013 to 2020.
His mom — Mahelia Elkins — told reporters he was a crack baby, which explains why he was recently hospitalized for mental health issues.
Shamar spoke to his stepfather, Marcus Jackson, about Shaneiqua wanting a divorce.
“I told him, ‘You can beat stuff, man. I don’t care what you’re going through, you can beat it,’” Marcus recalled.
“Then I remember him telling me: ‘Some people don’t come back from their demons.’”
