LAS VEGAS — “🎵We are the world. We are the children. We are the ones who make a brighter day, so let’s start giving.🎵” Shirley Raines, founder and CEO of “Beauty 2 The Streetz,” has migrated to that big Skid Row in the sky. The social media influencer passed away on January 27, 2026 at her home 🏠 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was 58. At the behest of Rashawn Williams (Shirley’s youngest daughter), police conducted a welfare check and found Shirley’s cadaver sprawled out on the floor next to her bed with a “single white pill of some sort” adjacent to her pillow. No foul play is suspected. And there’s no sign of an overdose. Rashawn said Shirley did, however, take Prozac to counter depression. In case you didn’t know, “Beauty 2 The Streetz” is a non-profit organization that proffers sustenance, toiletries and hygiene services to vagrants in the Skid Row vicinity of downtown Los Angeles — arguably the largest homeless community in America. Shirley handed out food and makeovers.
“Beauty 2 The Streetz,” which has more than a million Instagram followers, broke the sad news.
“It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that Beauty 2 The Streetz announces the passing of our beloved CEO and founder, Shirley Raines, affectionately known to so many as Ms. Shirley,” the organization wrote.
Ms. Shirley dedicated her life to serving others and made an immeasurable impact on homeless communities throughout Los Angeles and Nevada.”
The statement continues, “Through her tireless advocacy, deep compassion, and unwavering commitment, she used her powerful media platform to amplify the voices of those in need and to bring dignity, resources, and hope to some of the most underserved populations. This loss is devastating to the entire Beauty 2 The Streetz team, the communities we serve, and the countless individuals whose lives were forever changed by Ms. Shirley’s love, generosity, and selfless service. Her legacy will continue to live on through the work she started and the hearts she touched.”
During a chinwag with People Magazine in 2020, Shirley elucidated her affinity for succoring itinerants.
“One of the things I wanted to do was change the face of homelessness, and I thought I was going to do that through hair and all these things,” she explained.
“But I soon understood we needed to change the narrative of what ‘homeless’ means. Just because they’re without a home does not mean they’re without love. They are homeless, but a lot of them are not jobless. A lot of them are not kidless, phoneless or familyless. There are many levels of poverty as there are many levels of wealth.”
Shirley, a good friend of R&B songstress Lizzo, was named CNN’s “2021 Hero of the Year.”
She also won an NAACP Image Award for “Outstanding Social Media Personality” in 2025.
Shirley was a saint.
She did everything but walk on water.
“She would always send me messages of love and she never, ever asked for anything in return,” said a lachrymose Lizzo.
“People like her are rare. And I’m so grateful I was able to give her her flowers while she was here.”
Prior to her quietus, Shirley went online and said somebody was trying to kill her.
She also recounted how her son Demetrius was fatally poisoned at the age of 2.

The sad truth is that she had a big heart for homeless but being homeless doesn’t mean they are good people she feeds. She came in contact with some evil souls out there who would get mad when she didn’t have what they wanted or she didn’t allow them to act crazy when she handed out meals. The homeless community were grateful for her but some of them out there ain’t no good and yes they would hurt or should I say bite the hand that feeds them. I hope this is investigated and they also investigate those homeless people she was feeding.
