RICHMOND — The adventures of Pookie & Ray Ray continue. Police in Richmond, Virginia are investigating after 23-year-old Genesis Tamar Jones was shot dead while partying in the Shockoe Bottom nightlife district. Dominic Antoine Jackson, 42, was also Ctrl-Alt-And-Deleted. The double homicide transpired around 2:45 a.m. on February 21, 2026. A bunch of drunken 🍺 idiots were arguing over something trivial when roughly 50 shots were fired. “F*ck you, bitch!” someone yelled before pulling the trigger. Nine mothaf*ckas were hit. Genesis and Dominic were the only fatalities. “In total, nine adults were shot in this incident: a male and a female with fatal injuries, a male with injuries that are considered life threatening, and three males and three females with injuries that are not considered life threatening,” Police Chief Rick Edwards told reporters.
Zekiah Jones, Genesis’ big brother, was also at the scene.
He and his sister were in town celebrating their brother’s 25th birthday.
“She was the youngest of four,” Zekiah lamented.
She was the only girl. So, three big brothers. We came out here to celebrate my brother’s 25th birthday when everything transpired… She was just [the] life of a party. She was one of the best people I know. I was proud to be her big brother. I was proud to have her as a little sister. She will be forever missed and forever loved, and we’re going to make sure that she’s going to be forever remembered because she was a once in a lifetime character.”
There’s no suspects in custody and, because snitches get stitches, nobody’s talking. Crime scene investigators will probably have to solve this case on their own à la Scooby-Doo. “A lot of forensic material was recovered here,” Chief Edwards said. “Over 50 cartridge casings were recovered, multiple firearms. We towed six cars. We’re hoping to get some more help from the community, though.”
