We’re all dudes, hey!🎵” Janai Colbert, 24, was thrown in the slammer after she Ctrl-Alt-Deleted her girlfriend, 25-year-old Kaalynn Jackson, because she dumped her ass. The femicide transpired around 10 p.m. on April 19, 2025 just minutes after a family gathering in DeKalb County, Georgia. According to reports, Kaalynn — a victim of domestic violence — told Janai she was sick and tired of her bullsh*t so she’s ending the relationship. A bout of contretemps ensued. As the quarrel intensified, Janai pulled out a gun and opened fire — striking Kaalynn in the chest. The LGBT 🌈 advocate was transported to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. Janai was arrested and charged with murder. “They were fine just minutes before it happened,” Kaalynn’s sister, Crystal Gray, told reporters.
Michelle Jackson, Kaalynn’s mom, felt betrayed because she welcomed Janai to the family with open arms. “You took something that held us together,” Michelle bemoaned. “I can’t go to sleep. Because if I go to sleep, it becomes too real.” Social media reaction was homophobic. One commenter wrote, “Homosexuality opens an avenue for the devil to come in and STEAL, KILL, And DESTROY!!! These forbidden relationships NEVER end well, and then you burn in hell 🔥🔥🔥 if you don’t repent.”

Kaalynn was a special education teacher and cheerleading coach at Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary School.
